{Recipe} No Bake Layered Banana Split Dessert

7:00 am

Banana Splits are an old time dessert aren't they. Everyones heard of it. Not sure how many people have actually made it?? Well today we are! and what's better than a no bake dessert? Ah, a pretty layered one in a see through glass to tempt the taste buds!

1     Cup Biscuit Crumbs (Graham Crackers or something like Malt or Digestive Biscuits)
1/4  Cup Melted Butter
1     Cup Icing Sugar
1/2  Cup Softened Butter
1/4  Cup Creamed Cheese
2     Bananas, Diced
       Glaze Cherries, Halved
       Small Tin Pineapple Pieces
       Chocolate Sauce

(Serves 3-6 depending on serving size!)

I don't know if you can buy pre-crushed biscuit crumbs in other parts of the world but I always tend to make my own and you can this by:

  • Laying out a piece of non stick baking paper, fold this in half. On one half place 3-5 biscuits. Lay the other half of the baking paper over this and use a rolling pin or heavy bottle to roll and crush your biscuits. For easy pouring into your measuring cup, simply use the fold in the paper like a pouring lip
  • Into a mixing bowl, place in your one cup of biscuit crumbs and into this, add your melted butter and mix through well
  • Into a see through glass or dessert container, firmly pack this biscuit mixture into the base of each
  • Next onto the custard layer. To make this, in your mixing bowl combine together your icing sugar, softened butter and creamed cheese. Mix well until smooth
  • Spoon the custard into each glass on top of the biscuit base
  • Now onto our fruit layer. On top of the custard, place your diced banana pieces, halved glaze cherries and pineapple pieces
  • Once these layers at complete, we're done for now and its into some glad wrap and into the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving
  • Just before serving, add on some whipped cream, drizzle over your chocolate sauce and top with one final glaze cherrie!
