{Easter / Recipe} Marshmallow Chocolate Eggs

The other week I showed how to make Baking Soda Dough Easter Egg Decorations and this week, the idea is much the same except, these ones are edible!
There are no set measurements for this easy recipe, it's simply a matter of melting the chocolate you have and adding 'enough' marshmallows to suit.

What you will need:
White Chocolate - Make sure it's suitable for melting
Coloured Mini Marshmallows
Baking Paper

You have to work quickly once your chocolate has melted so these first few steps are all about preparing everything, ready to go.
  • In a small bowl, melt a small knob of butter
  • Line a baking or shallow tray with baking paper and lightly grease with your melted butter
  • At this point, also make sure you have your marshmallows at am arms reach and ready to pour in
  • Into another bowl, place in your white chocolate and another, small knob of butter'
  • Heat in the microwave (you can also use a double boiler method) at 30 second intervals until melted
  • Mix thoroughly between each microwave session. Once the heat is redistributed by mixing the chocolate around, any unmelted pieces will quickly heat through and melt too to create a smooth, runny mixture
  • Once melted, quickly stir through your marshmallows and toss long enough to combine the mixture but so long that they start melting in the chocolate
  • Immediately pour out onto your greased dish in a fairly thick layer
  • Lastly, sprinkle over any decorations
  • Pop in the fridge to set
  • Once set, leave out until it warms to room temperature again
  • This will create a soft enough mixture that you can now cut your chocolate into smaller pieces or, shape with cookie cutters
  • Once cut, return to the fridge until ready to eat
