{Quilting} Week 5 : Block 5 - The Checkerboard Block

A Block a Week - Quilting for Beginners
The Checkerboard Block

If you clicked into today's lesson cringing about how many Half Square Triangles you will need to make this week, fear not. This week we are completely switching it up with a new pattern and a new technique.

This week's Checkerboard Pattern creates not just one block, but two. This gives us the option to choose the best one to include in our final quilt. One will have 5 coloured squares, the other will be more predominately white. The left over piece can be used to replace a previous weeks block you're not entirely happy with or, would look great turned into a cushion cover. It's always great to have a Plan B up your sleeve either way!

So let's get to it and learn a new skill this week - The Checkerboard.
