Apple Rose Pastries Recipe

Followers should know by now, I LOVE a good recipe that gives incredible WOW factor, but in actual fact, is super easy to make! and speaking of love.... how cute would these be for Valentines Day!? See the Video Recipe Tutorial HERE

Ingredients: (Makes 3 Apple Roses)
1 Portion Flaky Pastry
2 Red Apples - Skin ON
1/2 Lemon
50g Butter
1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1 Tspn Cinnamon
Flour - For dusting work surface
Icing Sugar - For dusting baked pastries

  1. Thaw pastry
  2. Prepare large bowl cold water
  3. Squeeze in juice of 1/2 lemon
  4. Halve and core apples (skin ON)
  5. Slice THIN half rounds
  6. Place in lemon water (prevents browning)
  7. Dust work surface with flour
  8. Roll Pastry
  9. Cut 3 lengths approx. 3x height of apple slice
  10. Soften butter
  11. Add sugar and cinnamon
  12. Mix
  13. Spread evenly onto pastry strips
  14. Microwave or simmer apples in lemon water until bendy and pliable
  15. Overlap apple slices along top of pastry with red skins showing above the top
  16. Fold up bottom half of pastry
  17. ROLL! Carefully ;)
  18. Pinch the end of use some sugar mix as 'glue'
  19. Place into small ceramic dish or muffin case 
  20. Bake approx. 45 mins 180c / 350f
  21. Dust with icing sugar
